What do parrots, songs, and soldiers all have in common? They are in the AHS drama club’s winter production!

This winter, the Anacortes High School Theater Department is hosting “Monty Python’s Edukational Show”; a collection of sketches, animations, and songs from “Monty Python’s Flying Circus”, written by Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. This production is directed by Scott Burnett with the assistance of Mapula Mmatli.

The eleven members of the cast — Jack Murphy, Harlan Eggleston, Chloe Chambers, Benjamin Burton, Benjamin Marshall, Gabe Burnett, Max Hanesworth, Scott Geer, Lily-Rose Day, and Isabella Butler— all play various roles in multiple skits. The show consists of twenty sketches, three songs, and some original Monty Python animations here and there.

The drama club has put in a lot of effort, time, and energy into this amazing show, and they can’t wait for you to see it.

Actress Lily-Rose Day said “the type of humor is so incredibly unique that it’s sure to leave everyone thinking about it even after the show has ended.”

Fellow actor Gabe Burnett added that the humor this show brings is “bizarre yet endearing”, and something you must experience for yourself.

Not only will this be a chance to laugh and enjoy the talent of fellow students and the stories they perform, but it is also a chance to recognize their endless efforts and contributions to this show.

Performances will be January 9th, 10th, and 11th at 7pm in the AHS Commons, and there will be a $5 donation at the door. If you are looking for a new experience of comedy and an all-around fun time, you won’t want to miss the show.

**EDITOR’S NOTE: Mapula Mmatli is the student director and has spent hours on hours alongside Mr Burnett,  to make this show as great as it can be. She also has two roles in the production, so be sure to congratulate her on her performance as well as her dedication to the show.
