What does being thankful mean to me?

11/24/21

Being thankful to me means that my family and friends are right behind me, always, no matter what. Even if it feels like they’re not. Being Thankful to me means that my neighbor, well, I think of her more as my Nana, is living a healthy life and to be there for her, as she was there for every birthday since 2012, every holiday.

Being thankful means to me that I am not using my friends for anything, and being with them every step of the way, from Kindergarten, maybe even Pre-K, to graduation. Being Thankful means to me means that I have someone to lean on, someone to talk to.

Being thankful to me means thanking my mom after every meal, even if I make my own lunch, as my mom takes the time and effort to go to the store and pick out the types of food that me and my siblings enjoy to eat.

I am thankful for the roof over my head, the food on the table, the warmth, and the cool air that my parents give me. I am thankful for all the stuff that I do when bored, like my writing journals, my books, my guitar, puzzles if I dare say it out loud, board games, electronics, and so much more.

I am thankful for my dog, Rosie, as she has been with me since I started my path on figuring out who I am back in 6th grade. I am thankful for her making me smile each and every day, even if she does get annoying sometimes.

Being thankful to me means taking the time to appreciate everything my mom and dad do for me, and thank them for just being there.

So thank you, Mom and Dad, and everyone else…
