September was the month to get a feel for the school, the people, and the classes. October was for Homecoming, November for conferences. December was our major break, January was settling back down and coming to our senses. February was our quick and short month.

What was in store for the Anacortes High School in the beginning of March? Well, we started off with meetings for spring sports then we had Spirit Week!

Monday, March 14, 2022: PJ Day!

AHS dressed up in their PJs, and the students looked amazing! Some went to school wearing the PJs they slept in.

Tuesday, March 15, 2022: Monochrome Day

Wearing your favorite color/one color was easy and hard for some. A vast majority of students were wearing all black.

Wednesday, March 16, 2022: Jersey Day

Calling all sports fans!! Grab those foam Number One hands and those Sport Cup Holder hat things! Wear that face paint! Wear your oversize jerseys!

Most students didn’t go all out. Sorta disappointed, but what can you do? Yell: WEAR THAT JERSEY, BROSKIE! Like you can’t do that…I don’t think…

Thursday, March 17, 2022: Green Day!

Happy St. Patty’s day! Wear green or get pinched. Lay out the Lucky Charms Leprechaun traps! 50 shades of gray? Nah 50 shades of green.

Friday, March 18, 2022: Formal Day

Go full blown Cinderella, or use your HOCO’s outfit, or wear a shirt you think looks nice! Everyone looked very nice, in their suits and dresses.

We interviewed the ASB Leadership gang and here is what they had to say on Spirit Week!

What did each member want for Spirit Week?

Hey! It was mostly individually led with support from the class. The majority really wanted a formal day, so we were sure to incorporate that into the finished list.

How did you guys come up with the ideas before issuing them out in a survey?

A worker from the promotions department created a multiple-choice google survey with options accumulated by her own ideas, with some from the internet and the rest of the class. Most of them were classic spirit day ideas, and some of them were just creative intakes from the promotions department.

What’s the percentage of each Spirit Week day chosen? Like what was the highest, the lowest, the medium, etc.

Highest- Formal Day with 45.2%

Middle- Monochrome Day with 36.5%

Lowest- Senior Citizens with 9.4%
