Isabel Shainin Interview

Hannah + Kaylin: Most memorable moment during school? This can range from Pre-k to now.

Isabel:

H+K: 2. What do you think of High School ending?

I: I got to participate in the Sister Cities exchange with Nikaho, Japan. Travelling to Japan for two weeks with a bunch of friends was so fun, and it made me more aware of the varieties of cultures and ways of living throughout the world, as well as the similarities between us. This experience taught me to be more open minded and recognize that everyone comes from their own unique background that I will probably never understand, so I should try to withhold judgement.

H+K: Any regrets? If yes, what was one?

I: Nope.

H+K: Any recommendations or advice when dealing with school just in general?

I: I’m ready to be done with high school, but I’m also sad that we missed out on so much due to COVID. We were only fully in person during freshman and senior year – my friend’s sweet sixteen was the last thing I went to before quarantine. I wish that high school hadn’t been filled with the tragedy of COVID, and I think experiencing a pandemic during our formative years will have a lasting effect on this generation.

H+K: Any future plans after High School? It’s okay to say I don’t know.

I: I will be attending Emory University in Atlanta to study psychology.

H+K: Any regrets? If yes, what was one?

C: Nope

H+K: Any recommendations or advice when dealing with school just in general?

C: Take school seriously but don’t take yourself too seriously. Give yourself time to breathe and have fun. High school is the time to try new things, make mistakes, and learn from them.

H+K: Any future plans after High School? It’s okay to say I don’t know.

C: I am going to Villanova to study business.I am going to Villanova to study business.

Wow! These students really are thinking about what’s next, what’s happened, and what they have learned. New Up Coming Freshman, jot down some notes. Study those notes, and buckle your seat belt because high School is going to be a bumpy ride. (Ask anyone!)
